Cancellation Policies


To ensure transparency and protect both hosts and guests, Softbnb’s cancellation policy defines when cancellations are allowed, the refund conditions, and how disputes are resolved. Nigerian laws shall govern all matters arising under this policy.


1. General Principles

Softbnb provides a platform where guests can book accommodations from hosts across Nigeria.

By making a booking on Softbnb, you agree to comply with this Cancellation Policy in addition to our Terms of Service.


2. Cancellation by Guest

Guests can cancel a reservation at any time, subject to the following refund schedule:

2.1 Flexible Policy (For certain listings)

  • Full refund for cancellations made at least 5 days before the check-in date.
  • 50% refund for cancellations made less than 5 days before check-in.
  • No refund for cancellations made after check-in or for early check-outs.

2.2 Moderate Policy (Default Policy for most listings)

  • Full refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in.
  • 50% refund if canceled between 3–6 days before check-in.
  • No refund if canceled within 48 hours before check-in or after check-in.

2.3 Strict Policy (Optional by Host)

  • Full refund for cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in.
  • 50% refund if canceled between 7–13 days before check-in.
  • No refund if canceled within 6 days before check-in or after check-in.

The policy applicable to your booking will be stated clearly at the time of reservation.


3. Cancellation by Host

If a host cancels a confirmed reservation:

  • The guest will receive a full refund.
  • Softbnb may assist the guest in finding a similar or better accommodation.
  • Repeated cancellations by hosts may lead to account suspension or penalties.


4. Extenuating Circumstances

In rare cases, where unforeseeable events occur, either party may cancel without penalty. Extenuating circumstances include:

  • Natural disasters (flooding, earthquakes)
  • Political unrest (riots, protests)
  • Epidemics (official health emergencies)
  • Serious illness or death (must be verifiable)

Proof must be submitted (e.g., government notice, medical report).

Softbnb will assess such cases individually.


5. Refund Processing

  • Refunds will be made via the original payment method.
  • Processing times may vary but typically occur within 7–14 business days.
  • Transaction charges may be deducted where applicable.
